Yesterday was one of those days where I figured I’d go into DeKalb, spend some of the day chatting pleasantly with some of our regular customers and some newbies strolling in, and then spending the rest of the day sitting down with my laptop and get some work done on the cookbook. But then “2 for $5 Tuesday” kicked. My. Ass. 

You didn’t know about 2 for $5 Tuesday? If you followed us on Facebook or Twitter, you would have known. You’d also know about any other special deals we have, secret sales, or just keep up with general goings on at the shop.

And if you feel you just can’t wait til Tuesday to get a deal on cupcakes, today is the absolute, final day to purchase our InBundles deal- 6 cupcakes for half price. We are NOT signing up with another deal site in the forseeable future, you will NOT be able to purchase a comparable deal directly from us- this was sort of a “thank you” to everyone for being patient as DeKalb was closed for construction for three months (and just how sexy are those brand spanking new decks, huh? I wish you all could see the new drainage water pumping system- hoo boy it’s beautiful!).  The deal disappears at midnight, so get it now before it’s too late!

Now for some excellent cupcake news- The Aris is back from cupcake vacation! For some reason we decided to make this a seasonal spring cupcake- why, I don’t really remember. It’s insanely popular, only available once in a blue moon, and unbelievably delicious. If you guys like it enough, you may be able to convince me to keep it around all year round- go buy one and let me know what you’re thinking!

I am writing this in a rush because it is 10pm on Thanksgiving Day, and in a little while I need to put my kids to bed, then sneak out of the house to head to Toys R Us.  I’m not actually looking for any ridiculous deals- it’s just that with my work schedule for the holidays, the only time I can shop without the kids noticing me is the one night they are open overnight. YES, I can probably just order everything online, but I feel like that’s cheating at Christmas.  So I’m in comfy shoes and doing some warm up stretches, getting ready to throw some elbows at the Caesar’s Bay Shopping Plaza over Cars 2 action figures and sweat socks.

Most wonderful time of the year! 

Anyway, to the cupcakes.  Most of our wholesale locations are closed, so the only place we’re sending fresh cupcakes to is Union Square, where we’ll have Eggnog, Chocolate Candy Cane, Hot Buttered Rum, and Chocolate Hazelnut Raspberry cupcakes, brownies, and whoopie pies so you can get a hit of sugar to keep you going through your marathon shopping session.  

But what about the store at DeKalb, you ask? Why no Christmas cupcakes there?

Good question!  Right now, we’re 110% DONE with our fall flavors.  But even though they’re out of the rotation, we still had some extra fall ingredients left over in the kitchen.  So rather than take all that pumpkin, sweet potato etc and throw it in the trash, we just used it all up and made a ton of our final fall rotation. So now……

We only have a limited amount of inventory, so once we’re sold out, we’ll be closing down for the day and stocking for the holiday season.  Aside from our holiday flavors, get ready to see more items from Danny Macaroons, Liddabit Sweets, Granola Lab, The Good Batch and more!  DeKalb Market is only staying open til the end of December so it can close for three months for more construction work (we’re getting an even fancier tent, an incubator kitchen in the farm area and other exciting stuff!), so you have about five weeks to come visit DeKalb before we all go on hiatus.*
