Today we’re bringing back a flavor we haven’t done since last March: The Aris.  It’s named after one of Matt’s old friends, Aris Boustikakis (or at least we think that’s how you spell it).  He’s been a very good friend to my husband since their days back in PS 160.  He’s also the only Greek guy we know who’s name is pronounceable and isn’t “George” (because that’s just not a sexy name for a cupcake- our apologies to all you Georges out there).  We also apologize to our friends the Mavromoustakoses, Britsimizakises and Krasinakises- who’s names are all way too long to get on our Greekest cupcake.

Also today we’re honoring our good friends Jen & Liz with their namesake cupcake “The Liddabit”, celebrating the drink that got Matt & I engaged with “The Car Bomb”, and just plain making Rum Raisin.  Nothing really special about that last one aside from it being tasty.  Sorry rum & raisins.

“The Aris”:  Honey-walnut cake, orange tinged Greek yogurt buttercream, glazed walnuts, salted honey drizzle

“The Liddabit”: Chocolate cake, salted caramel & nougat buttercream, roasted peanuts, ganache & caramel drizzle

“Car Bomb”: Chocolate Guinness stout cake, Jameson whiskey ganache, Bailey’s Irish cream buttercream

“Rum Raisin”: Rum raisin cake, vanilla buttercream, rum-soaked raisins
