Flavors: Friday, August 16th
Apologies for posting today’s flavors a bit late today, but our sons, ages 5 and 6, have not stopped beating the crap out of each other. Whats crazy is that there’s not a shred of malicious intent here! No, one with punch the other one in the stomach, and they both laugh hysterically. Then the other will smack the other in the head with a bolster pillow, and they laugh more. Every grown man I’ve spoken to who has brothers agreed this is totally normal behavior, and also laughs when I tell them the details. I don’t get boys at all. Three more weeks til school starts! Cannot freaking wait!
Since it’s Friday, and you deserve a break for working so hard this week, why don’t you grab a cupcake and read my brand spanking new article for Medium? This one is about birthdays and growing older, appropriate for all those people I always see on Twitter saying things like “OMG it’s the last week of my twenties NOOOOOOO!!!!” that I always feel like slapping. Was that me three years ago? Yes. But still, read the article — life is far better on this side of thirty.
Know what else is nice to do on a Friday after cupcakes and reading? Watching this video of Steve and Eydie singing with the one and only Frank Sinatra. Because people in their thirties remember their grandparents listening to Steve and Eydie, secretly loved them a little bit, and were genuinely sad when Eydie passed away this week at the age of 84. You were a class act, Ms. Gorme.
