I have no time to write the WD-50 post today, or my birthday post 3 days late, because we are busy as f*!# today getting ready for:

We return to Manhattan tomorrow for a ONE DAY ONLY food festival! And it just made sense that if we’re going to be popping up for one day only, we may as well bake up some……….

CHICKEN N’ WAFFLES CUPCAKES!  We’re the originators, and we still do them the best. Still amazes me that three years ago when we first made them everyone thought we were nuts, now you Google it and they’re everywhere.  Maybe I’m not as crazy as you all thought, huh?

Also this weekend- The Maltz Brownie- aka CHOCOLATE BOURBON BACON. And a whole bunch of other awesome stuff too that we haven’t quite decided on yet- as always, feel free to Tweet at us with requests and we’ll see what we can do.

Remember- we sell out of these things really quickly. We do our best every single time not to, and we’re absolutely making a ton tonight in anticipation of it being popular, but in the event you absolutely positively NEED one of these things, get there early. Limited quantities will also be available at DeKalb market if the Seaport is not your thing.

Here’s details! See you tomorrow!

PARKED! A FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL

Built by MeanRed
August 4th, 2012 // South Street Seaport // 10AM-9PM

On Saturday, August 4, 2012, food truck mania of gastronomic proportions descends on Manhattan’s historic South Street Seaport for the fifth annual PARKED! Prepare to salivate over 30 of NYC’s most premium food trucks, gorge yourself on Restaurant Row’s 20 exceptional food vendors, and take home tantalizing dry-good-goodies from the General Store.

In addition to the city’s best food trucks and vendors, PARKED! will have a beer garden and a champagne garden, so you can imbibe refreshing adult beverages while listening to John Hammond, The Juggs, The Loom, and Johnnie Lee Jordan & The Boys perform on Pier 17’s main stage.  Face painters, stilt walkers, and magicians will be on hand to keep you distracted in line and your kids happy all day.

Lifestyle curators MeanRed instigated the NYC food truck craze four years ago, when the first PARKED! hit their modest waterfront venue BKLYN Yard. New Yorkers connected with the simple idea of spending the afternoon outside, grabbing a bite from their favorite food trucks, and listening to live music. Since then, PARKED! has grown from 5 to over 30 food trucks, and last year’s success brought 20,000 attendees to the seaport.

Still want more? If you find yourself to be impatient in lines and cranky when hungry, we suggest the PARKED PASS for $65. This little gem will be your saving grace to get the fastest access to your favorite and newly discovered food truck fare. Each Parked Pass is good for:

- A dedicated VIP express line at each truck
- 10 small bites from 10 trucks of your choice
- 1 drink

Parked Pass hours are 5pm-7pm only and are a limited run of 500! They can be purchased at http://www.ticketfly.com/event/118307

Check out updates, featured trucks, photos of past PARKED! festivals and more on the website: www.ParkedFestival.com. Keep up with us on Twitter @ParkedFest  and like the Facebook page for exclusives.

We are ridiculously excited to be participating in MeanRed Productions’ second PARKED of the year, this time being held on beautiful Governor’s Island!  We had a blast at the last on at BKLYNYARD, and this one is going to be even bigger and better, with more room, more vendors, and more cupcakes!  Here’s the lineup:

LAST APPEARANCE THIS YEAR!!!!  CHICKEN N’WAFFLES:  Vanilla “waffle” cake with vanilla buttercream, topped with a hunk of buttermilk-soaked fried chicken dipped in pure Vermont maple syrup.

THE MALTZ:  Chocolate-bourbon cake & buttercream topped with brown sugar candied bacon

CHOCOLATE CARAMEL PRETZEL:  Chocolate cake with salted caramel buttercream, rolled in crushed pretzels

LAST APPEARANCE THIS YEAR!!!  PEACH COBBLER:  Peach cake with vanilla buttercream, sauteed Jersey peaches and cinnamon streusel topping

FUNKY MONKEY:  Banana chocolate chip cake with peanut butter buttercream, ganache & ground chocolate

Free ferries depart from Brooklyn and Manhattan, and the event runs from 12-5.  LOTS of our favorites will be there, such as Red Hook Lobster Pound, Cinnamon Snail Vegan Organic (even meat-lovers like us adore them), Hallo Berlin, and so many more I’m dying to try that I can’t even remember them all.  Wear fat pants, and we’ll see you there!
