Holy crap! I asked you guys to help us out, and you totally pulled through! Mikey’s family has received and OVERWHELMING response which they are so grateful for. I’ll get to news and updates in a moment, but I have a few clarifications to make first:
1- The money we are raising is not going directly to Mikey’s family, it is going to a charity called St. Baldrick’s to help pediatric cancer research. St. Baldrick gives more money to this cause than any other organization besides the US Government.
Doctors do not know what sort of tumors are growing all over his brain and spinal cord, & they are still figuring out how to treat them. St. Baldrick’s has been giving research grants to Mikey’s oncologists to help them find a cure not only for him, but thousands of kids dying from cancer.

3- We really appreciate your calls of support and the stories you’ve been sharing with us! However, we are only two people, and have two businesses to run (and 2 kids who are demanding we pay attention to them!), so we don’t have a lot of time to be on the phone. If you want to contact us, please EMAIL us and we’ll do our best to respond!
4- We are accepting donations of change and small bills at the store (DeKalb Market on Flatbush & Willoughby). However, if you have a large donation, please send it directly to St. Baldrick’s!
Now to updates! We’ve had a lot of people offering to jump on board, and here’s what we’ve got so far:
*GRANOLA LAB will be donating bags of granola for us to sell at DeKalb Market this weekend, with 100% of the proceeds going to St. Balrick!
*Pogoshop.etsy.com will be donating 20% of all their sales this week!
*Courdoroy made this adorable grizzly bear action figure just for Mikey! 100% of sales!
*Both Liddabit Sweets and Danny Macaroons have contacted me and said they will be coming up with ways to help!

When I spoke to Christine (Mikey’s mom) yesterday, she said the media attention meant the most of all, because they’ve been praying that maybe some doctor or researcher out there would see it who may have an insight into Mikey’s case.
